QPR 2-1 Cardiff
QPR striker Andy Thomson took his season's tally to nine with a double strike to help his side come from behind to beat Cardiff City at Loftus Road.
Cardiff had grabbed a deserved half-time lead when Peter Thorne was felled by QPR keeper Chris Day after 37 minutes and Graham Kavanagh crashed in the resulting penalty. But Rangers brought on French striker Ebeli Mbombo Dodou at half-time and for the second home match running it was his inspiration that turned the game. The equaliser came in the 55th minute when Michael Simpkins was harshly ruled to have tripped Thomson and the striker picked himself up to slot home the spot-kick. The winner came just six minutes later. Christer Warren set off on a storming forward run before slipping the ball to Thomson who calmly curled it round goalkeeper Neil Alexander to claim all three points.

Cardiff: Alexander, Weston, Gabbidon, Prior, Simpkins, Hamilton, Boland, Kavanagh, Legg, Fortune-West, Thorne. Subs: Low, Bowen, Brayson, Bonner, Hughes. Referee: M Messias (York). |
