Cambridge 2-2 Wigan
Cambridge threw away two vital points in a draw with Wigan Athletic at the Abbey Stadium.

The hosts gifted a goal to allow Wigan to equalise in the second half and then missed a penalty with nine minutes to go.

Wigan took the lead in the 17th minute when Arjan De Zeeuw sent Neil Roberts racing through to lob goalkeeper Lionel Perez from the edge of the box.

Cambridge equalised on the half-hour, Dean Walling heading into a packed goalmouth where Richard Prokas deflected the ball past Stewart Kerr.

Another set-piece put Cambridge in front eight minutes after the restart when Tom Youngs blasted the ball in from close range after latching onto David Kitson's knock-down.

Kitson hit the post with a header 11 minutes later, but a poor back-pass by Warren Goodchild presented Roberts with a gift equaliser in the 73rd minute.

Cambridge looked like getting a win when Peter Kennedy brought down Youngs in the box, but Terry Fleming hit the penalty straight at Kerr.
