Bristol C 3-1 Colchester

Bristol City substitute Simon Clist scored a solo goal as his side defeated Colchester United.

Scott Murray had put City ahead after 40 minutes only for Kevin Rapley to chip in an equaliser during stoppage time at the end of the first half.

But City again took the advantage two minutes into the second half when Steve Jones put them back in front.

It was a thrilling game between two of the Second Division's pacesetters and Colchester probably deserved a point from the encounter.

Clist made sure that would not be the case after racing from midfield before scoring with a 20-yard shot two minutes from time.
