Reading 1-2 Cardiff
Two goals from Leo Fortune-West maintained Cardiff's unbeaten record as 10-man Reading slipped to their first defeat of the season.

Alex Smith had given the visitors a chance with a neat equaliser but eight minutes from time the game was put beyond Reading when captain Phil Parkinson was dismissed for a foul on Michael Simpkins.

Referee David Pugh also booked six Cardiff players and three from Reading in a fiery game.

Graham Kavanagh set up Cardiff's first on 12 minutes when his shot was turned onto an upright by Reading goalkeeper Phil Whitehead, only to rebound to the feet of Fortune-West.

Reading's equaliser came in similar fashion when Neil Alexander could only parry Jamie Cureton's shot and Smith hammered home the rebound.

Three minutes later, Fortune-West claimed his second when his header beat Whitehead.
