Jean Tigana
Tigana: Saw his side record ninth successive league win
Luis Boa Morte scored inside 15 seconds as Fulham wrecked Bolton's unbeaten record and maintained their own promotion push with a ninth successive league victory.

The Portuguese striker, deputising for leading scorer Louis Saha, took his chance by grabbing both goals.

With Fulham firing on all cylinders and John Collins orchestrating affairs in midfield, even a torrential downpour failed to deflect their crisp passing game.

Jean Tigana's side set their stall out from the off as Bolton midfielder Anthony Barness lost the ball from the kick-off and Lee Clark latched onto it before racing into the box.

His shot deflected off Mark Fish and Boa Morte fired at Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen with the rebound falling to Boa Morte, who scored from close range.

From then on Bolton were constantly playing catch-up, although early efforts from Michael Ricketts and Dean Holdsworth went just wide.

Fulham domination

After 38 minutes the heavens opened and conditions became treacherous, but Fulham raised their passing game if anything and consistently frustrated their hosts.

The second half saw Fulham taking the initiative and on 53 minutes Boa Morte and Clark went close with successive efforts when Jaaskelainen was off his line.

Bolton made three substitutions in the last quarter but to no avail, as Fulham continued to dominate and after 70 minutes Barry Hayles hit the Bolton post.

On 85 minutes a Bolton attack broke down and a quick clearance found Boa Morte in space and he raced into the box.

He produced a mirror image of his first goal as he hammered home after Jaaskelainen had parried.

After that Ian Marshall fired wide for Bolton, summing up a fruitless afternoon for his side.

Bolton: Jaaskelainen, O'Kane, Bergsson, Fish, Barness, Farrelly, Hansen, Passi, Frandsen, Holdsworth, Ricketts. Subs: Banks, Nolan, Charlton, Marshall, Rankin.

Fulham: Taylor, Fernandes, Melville, Coleman, Trollope, J. Collins, Goldbaek, Finnan, Clark, Hayles, Boa Morte. Subs: Hahnemann, Symons, W. Collins, Lewis, Hammond.

Referee: A Bates (Stoke on Trent)
