Millwall   2 - 0   Leicester

Millwall 2-0 Leicester

Millwall 2-0 Leicester

Millwall extended their unbeaten run to six games with victory over Leicester.

Steve Morison opened the scoring from a Liam Trotter cross and Jason Puncheon doubled the home side's lead before the break by converting Tony Craig's pass.

Leicester should have pulled a goal back after the restart but Lloyd Dyer shot wide with a one-on-one chance.

The Lions were reduced to 10 men after 53 minutes when Alan Dunne was given a straight red card for a two-footed lunge on Richie Wellens.

Leicester had recovered from a two-goal deficit to draw with Leeds on Boxing Day but there was scant sign of another comeback at the New Den.

Foxes manager Sven-Goran Eriksson saw his team push forward after Dunne's dismissal but Steve Howard wasted their best chance, shooting well wide.

The result might have been very different if Paul Gallagher had converted an early chance but he dragged his shot wide.

The visitors also crafted an opening shortly before the break when Gallagher and Greg Cunningham combined to play in Kyle Naughton but he too missed the target.

Leicester were two down by that stage - and it could have been three had James Henry not missed with a free-kick.
