Burnley   2 - 3   Leeds United

Burnley 2-3 Leeds

Burnley 2-3 Leeds

Jonny Howson grabbed a late winner as Leeds came back from two goals down to beat Burnley at Turf Moor.

Leeds were twice punished for failing to clear their lines as Brian Easton lashed in a shot before a Jay Rodriguez strike put the hosts ahead.

But Max Gradel sparked a Leeds comeback when he angled in a shot before Luciano Becchio swept in an equaliser.

A Robert Snodgrass effort hit the Burnley crossbar before Howson curled in a precise strike for the winner.

It was a stirring display from Leeds as they continued their unbeaten run to eight games and inflicted only a second league loss at home for Burnley so far this season.

The visitors, who moved up to fourth in the Championship, began on the front foot as Gradel spurned two early chances as he fired inches wide from the edge of the penalty area and then blazed over the crossbar when clean through.

Leeds keeper Kasper Schmeichel had to save an Andre Bikey header before the home side made Leeds pay for their earlier misses.

Bikey clipped a free-kick into the area and Easton capitalised by sending in a left-footed shot from six yards.

Leeds centre-half Alex Bruce then failed to deal with Clarke Carlisle's long punt forward and Rodriguez added Burnley's second with a low shot.

But Becchio's header found Gradel unmarked in the Burnley area and the winger produced an emphatic finish to pull one back for the visitors.

Leeds started to dominate and earned a deserved equaliser when Paul Connolly crossed for Becchio to score from close range.

And, after Snodgrass hit the crossbar following a fine run and curling shot, his cross was deflected off Bikey's knee and cleared off the Burnley goalline by Carlisle.

But Leeds were rewarded for their determination when Howson scored to secure a fifth away league win.
