QPR stayed top of the Championship after beating struggling Middlesbrough.
Heidar Helguson broke the deadlock when he finished a 49th-minute penalty after he was brought down by Barry Robson.
The influential Adel Taarabt floated a cross into the Boro area and Hogan Ephraim guided in a shot to double QPR's advantage.
Jamie Mackie pounced from close range after a Kaspars Gorkss shot was blocked to seal the win before Ephraim saw a shot hit the crossbar.
The win continues QPR's impressive start to the season with Neil Warnock's side having earned 13 points from five games.
But in complete contrast, Boro have won just one league match so far this season.
They are also without an away win in the league as they languish near the foot of the Championship.
The visitors did little to engineer an improvement in their fortunes as keeper Jason Steele had to save from Taarabt and Ephraim as the home side pressed for an opener.
Boro struggled for chances but should have taken the lead when Robson's corner found Kris Boyd, who dragged his shot wide from six yards out.
However, Robson was penalised for a foul on Helguson at the other end as the home side took the lead from the spot and took command to ease to victory.
QPR boss Neil Warnock told BBC London 94.9: "We played some good football but there were one or two words at half-time. I though we could step it up a gear.
"We needed to be a yard quicker to everything and let the ball do the work. In the second half they did what I wanted them to do.
"We were comfortable and it was a good game, but I just thought we could do more."
Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan told BBC Tees: "The first half was good, it was an enjoyable game with chances at other end, we lost a few tackles where we really needed to win them but after the first goal the players panicked, and the players gave away the other two goals.
"We've not eliminated that panicking, it's something we have to address one way or another.
"There's a way, it's always through hard work and drive and determination, but at this moment after the game it's a dark period."
