Luciano Becchio celebrates scoring the winning goal for Leeds

Luciano Becchio struck his third goal of the season as Leeds came from behind to beat Swansea at Elland Road.

Stephen Dobbie put the Swans ahead on 13 minutes, slotting home after Richard Naylor misjudged a ball over the top.

But Bradley Johnson smashed Leeds level after the restart, after Dorus de Vries saved Naylor's point-blank header.

And eight minutes later Argentine Becchio fired home from close range to leave the Swans still searching for their first points on the road.

Elland Road is not a happy hunting ground for the Welsh side, who have not won there in 61 years, and that miserable run did not look like ending as Leeds came charging out of the blocks.

Max Gradel had an early chance for Simon Grayson's side, although his weak header was never going to trouble De Vries.

Then Becchio, who was looking a threat early on, saw an effort deflected away for a corner before missing a free header from the resulting delivery.

And it looked like it was going to be a long afternoon for Swansea as Leeds continued to press with Neil Kilkenny also sending a header over.

But the Swans struck against the run of play on 13 minutes when Naylor misjudged David Cotterill's ball over the top, allowing Dobbie to race in behind and slot coolly into the bottom right-hand corner.

Rodgers happy despite loss

Leeds were rattled and soon after Scott Sinclair beat the offside trap only to be denied by the legs of keeper Shane Higgs.

Then on the half-hour Higgs - in for the injured Kasper Schmeichel - again denied Swansea, pushing away Nathan Dyer's curling shot from the edge of the box.

The Leeds keeper, who was a spectator in the early stages, found himself coming to the home side's rescue once again before the break as he turned Dobbie's low shot round the post.

But just as Swansea struck against the run of play, Leeds almost did in first-half stoppage time when Johnson launched a fierce shot against the bar.

Leeds attempted to start the second half as they had the first, but it was Sinclair at the other end who struck the post for the Swans as he tried to curl one in from the left.

The home side got their leveller though on 56 minutes from a free-kick on the corner of the Swansea area after Neil Taylor bundled over Gradel.

De Vries saved Naylor's header at point-blank range from Gradel's resulting delivery but could nothing as Johnson smashed the rebound into the roof of the net.

And Leeds turned the game on its head eight minutes later when Gradel beat Alan Tate down the left and cut the ball back to Lloyd Sam.

The substitute's effort was blocked by De Vries, as was Kilkenny's rebound, but Becchio pounced at close range to put them ahead.

Becchio later clashed with De Vries after going in late on the Dutchman, who went on to throw the ball at the Leeds striker's head, but both escaped with cautions.

Swansea pushed for a deserved point with substitutes Joe Allen and Cedric van der Gun both coming close, along with Dobbie, but Leeds were able to hold on for all three points.
