Derby 1-0 Leicester

Derby 1-0 Leicester

Andy King's bizarre own goal eased Derby's relegation fears as the Rams beat rivals Leicester.

The midfielder could only watch as his routine back-pass rolled over the foot of keeper Chris Weale and into the net.

Derby keeper Stephen Bywater tipped Richie Wellens' 20-yard effort round the post before the break.

Michael Tonge and Chris Porter went close from the edge of the box for the Rams, while Bywater saved from Wellens and Michael Morrison late on.

Leicester City assistant manager Craig Shakespeare told BBC Radio Leicester:

"At this stage of the season, we have to try and utilise most of the squad.

"We had the lion's share of possession without hurting them in the final third."

Derby coach Gary Crosby told BBC Radio Derby:

"I thought the sheer endeavour was fantastic by all of them.

"I thought they fully deserved the three points."
