Crystal Palace have signed two Premiership players in their attempt to win promotion from Division One next season.

Palace manager Steve Coppell has brought in central defender Neil Ruddock, 32, from fellow London club West Ham for an undisclosed fee, and has also taken back on loan Chelsea's young Finnish striker Mikael Forssell.

Forssell, 19, was on loan at Selhurst Park for part of last season and made 13 appearances for the Eagles.

Coppell said: "It is typical of our ambitions that we are looking to sign players with Premiership quality."
