Doncaster 1-1 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace came from behind to earn a draw and move out of the Championship drop zone in what is expected to be Neil Warnock's last game as manager.

The Eagles were deducted 10 points for going into administration and Warnock is set to join QPR in the coming days.

The troubles increased in the opening half as Doncaster dominated and went ahead through James Coppinger's strike.

But Palace rallied after the break and Kieran Djilali levelled from six yards after a mazy run by Darren Ambrose.

A point was fair reward for a spirited display from Palace, who came into the match on the back of three successive defeats.

The hosts made an encouraging start, with Billy Sharp heading wide from close range and James Hayter shooting wide following a Coppinger corner.

John Oster also twice fired wide before the hosts finally made their dominance pay when a decent team move allowed Coppinger to score from 18 yards.

But Warnock changed things at the interval, sending on Johannes Ertl for Lee Hills - who was himself an early substitute for the injured Claude Davis.

Ambrose and Nick Carle both sent efforts just off target and Palace came even closer on the hour mark when Shaun Derry's close-range strike was blocked by Hayter.

Their pressure was rewarded in the 67th minute when Ambrose ended a fine run with a pinpoint cross that allowed Djilali to slot home from close range.

Both sides had chances to win the game late on but had to settle for a point apiece.

Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll:
"We created a lot of chances and played some good football so I'm not particularly disappointed.

"If we could have got a second goal it would have been all over bar the shouting, but we didn't and that's life in this division.

"I think Palace boss Neil Warnock has got out of jail with a few decisions."

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock (on his link with QPR and the performance at Doncaster):
"Nothing has changed. Until I am told any differently I have a job to do and it is a difficult job.

"The last 20 minutes of the first half we were a shambles, but that was down to me as well because of the tactics.

"Second half we were more positive and that takes some doing when you play 10 games in 30 days with a squad of 16 or 17.

"Some were running on empty but there was a lot of commitment and we could have won it at the end. We showed guts."
