Peterborough   1 - 2   Nottm Forest

Peterborough 1-2 Nottm Forest

Peterborough 1-2 Nottm Forest

Two goals in the space of five minutes saw Nottingham Forest come from behind and claim victory in a tight encounter.

Posh took the lead in the 50th minute when Aaron McLean headed home but Forest equalised quickly when Radoslaw Majewski scored from a free-kick.

Five minutes later, Paul Anderson toe-poked in Chris Cohen's cross for his first goal of the season.

George Boyd missed a chance to level but shot into the side netting and Forest held on for a second away win.

Peterborough had lost goalkeeper Joe Lewis and Paul Coutts to injury inside the opening half hour.

Posh regrouped and almost went ahead but Craig Mackail-Smith headed wide from close range and substitute Lee Frecklington shot the wrong side of the post from 25-yards.

After the break, Peterborough were in the ascendancy when McLean rose highest to head Tom Williams' corner past Lee Camp.

But Forest were level within minutes when Majewski floated a free-kick in from the left and the ball flew straight into the top corner.

Five minutes later, Cohen made space down the left and whipped in a cross for Anderson to steal in.

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson felt losing goalkeeper Joe Lewis to an early injury was a pivotal moment:

"I certainly feel it affected the result.

"Joe couldn't see properly and has gone off to hospital - it would have to be serious to get him off.

"It is another game we did not deserve to lose but we are seeing all the time that small margins make a big difference at this level."

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies:

"For weeks I have been telling anyone willing to listen about how well we have been playing.

"But it wasn't possible to use our normal passing game in this match.

"It was all about scrapping and showing determination to get a result and I felt we shaded it over the 90 minutes."
