Blackpool   2 - 0   Peterborough

Highlights - Blackpool 2-0 Peterborough

Blackpool 2-0 Peterborough

Goals from Jason Euell and Hameur Bouazza sealed victory over Peterborough and maintained Blackpool's fine start to the season.

Blackpool got off to a flier as much-travelled Euell rose to head home Stephen Crainey's third-minute cross.

Bouazza doubled the Seasiders' lead on 11 minutes when he swept home Neal Ardley's throw-in from six yards.

Lee Frecklington spurned Posh's best chance to get back into the game by volleying over from six yards out.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway:

"We are in the top six but so what? It's a great position to be in (fifth) but in a marathon we have run the first hundred yards.

"I'm not worried about our position, more about who can play in our defence on Tuesday.

"If this was a first date they haven't even taken our order yet, the night might turn out to be rubbish, she might walk out on me. Who's to say what will happen?

"But I am delighted with this win because I know Peterborough are a very good side and they will get stronger. They stopped us playing in midfield, they pushed forward and looked like they could score at any time."

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson:
"We committed suicide and I'm very disappointed with the result although I'm more disappointed about the manner of the result.

"I stressed how much we had to concentrate from the start but the two goals we gifted them gave us an absolute mountain to climb.

"This was always going to be a big test but we shot ourselves in the foot."
