Ipswich 2-1 Coventry

Two first-half goals were enough to give Ipswich victory over Coventry in Roy Keane's first home match in charge.

On-loan winger Giovani dos Santos broke the deadlock when he cut in from the right and curled home from 20 yards, the ball deflecting off Ben Turner.

Pablo Counago doubled the advantage two minutes later, converting a rebound.

Coventry netted a late consolation through Clinton Morrison but could not prevent Keane making it two wins out of two since his appointment.

Ipswich manager Roy Keane:

"The performance probably summed up the team and the season. There was some good stuff and some bad stuff.

"After they scored we lost a little bit of composure and stopped doing the basics.

"If you know anything about football, there's a big challenge ahead.

"This time next year we don't want to be walking on to the pitch, finishing eighth or ninth, applauding the fans."

Coventry manager Chris Coleman:

"We knew it was going to be tough with Ipswich having a new manager with a big reputation.

"They are coming on the back of a 3-0 win and then we lose two goals in a short space of time.

"I thought we could have collapsed but we didn't. I thought the lads did well. We came back. We should have scored more goals, really.

"The last six or eight weeks, the wheels have come off. It's been miserable for us and we're going to make changes in the summer."
