Ipswich 1-1 Burnley

Giovani dos Santos scored his first goal for Ipswich Town to earn a draw against Burnley at Portman Road.

Burnley took the lead when Wade Elliott powered into the Ipswich box and rifled in an angled shot.

Elliot nearly added a second but keeper Richard Wright saved his point-blank header from a Chris Eagles cross.

And winger Giovani, on loan from Tottenham, equalised with a low left-foot shot from just outside the area as the spoils were shared.

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton:

"When Giovani lands on the ball you think something is going to happen and we haven't had that sort of player this season.

"He has that ability. You don't come from Barcelona and sign for Tottenham without having ability.

"We don't know where that point is going to take us because the Championship this year has been that sort of league. We will need our point. We've now got to win on Saturday against Watford."

Burnley manager Owen Coyle:

"It may turn out to be an important point but it's a slight disappointment after going in front that we never got the three points.

"I do think it was a fantastic game and I think any neutral would say it was two teams trying to play the game the right way."

"I don't think there's any way we can catch the top two but at the end of the day, we want something tangible at the end of the season."
