Derby 4-1 Blackpool

Kris Commons scored twice as Derby continued their resurgence under Nigel Clough with victory over Blackpool.

Stephen Crainey's mistake allowed Rob Hulse to cross for Commons' first before Blackpool deservedly equalised through a Rob Edwards header.

Commons stunningly shot Derby back into the lead when he cut in and unleashed a thunderbolt from the edge of the area.

Commons then turned provider for Paul Green to slot in before Nacer Barazite added the shine via a deflected fourth.

Derby manager Nigel Clough:
"Blackpool were stubborn and resilient and I don't think there'll be too many teams who will work harder than that coming to Pride Park.

"I think the game was in the balance for most of the second half but we stuck at it and got our rewards in the end.

"It was an outstanding strike from Kris Commons for his first goal and he deserved it for his all-round game."

Blackpool caretaker manager Tony Parks:

"It was a great strike from the lad (Commons), quality. He had a hand n every goal but I don't think there was a big difference between the teams.

"Taylor-Fletcher missed a good chance. After 72 minutes we looked as if e might score the second goal and it's a shame it finished 4-1.

"But we've been in these positions before and we brush ourselves down and get ready for the next game.

"I feel we can get away from the bottom three and that would be a success for this club."
