Norwich 2-2 Southampton

Second-half goals by substitutes Kayne McLaggon and Marek Saganowski earned Southampton a fine draw at Norwich in Mark Wotte's first game as manager.

Mark Fotheringham put Norwich in front when he side-footed in Jamie Cureton's cross, two minutes before Wes Hoolahan found the top corner from 30 yards.

Southampton got on the scoresheet when a poorly-cleared corner only went to McLaggon, whose deflected shot went in.

With 12 minutes left Lloyd James's cross found Saganowski who headed home.

Norwich manager Bryan Gunn told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"It was a fantastic performance in the first half, we got the lads down and said at half-time that it was a dangerous scoreline.

"The next goal was always going to be important, we feel that Southampton in the first half were coming here for a point, and they got a point.

"The way they were celebrating on the bench at the end of the game you could see how much it meant."

Southampton head coach Mark Wotte:
"It's a good way to start.

"It may have only been a point but it seems like a win after being 2-0 down at half time.

"It's a good result for us and we will take a lot of positives from it, but we have to remember this is only the start.

"Now we need to build on this, starting in our next two matches against Swansea and Sheffield United which are both at home."
