Sheff Wed 1-1 Blackpool

Bartosz Slusarski scored his first goal for Sheffield Wednesday to secure a point in a lacklustre game.

The on-loan West Brom striker buried Steve Watson's floated cross low into the corner after Alan Gow drilled Blackpool ahead from the penalty spot.

Gow fired into the top corner after Lewis Buxton impeded Shaun Barker.

Owls keeper Lee Grant saved Keith Southern's 20-yard effort while Francis Jeffers' overhead effort was turned away by Blackpool keeper Paul Rachubka.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws:

"I didn't think we played well enough to take all three points. Blackpool worked extremely hard and I don't want to take anything away from them.

"We initially brought Bartosz Slusarski in as a striker but he's been playing on the left and he's got on with the job as best as he possibly can.

"He's been great to work with and we're hoping to extend his loan period. His first goal will help him immensely and we hope he can contribute some more."

Blackpool caretaker manager Tony Parkes:
"Myself and Steve Thompson want to carry on with the results that Simon Grayson got with the players.

"Hopefully if that happens, there may be a chance that we get the job full-time. They're quite prepared to give us a chance. I would be the manager with Steve as my assistant.

"Today we're happy with a point but I thought they were two points dropped, to be honest."
