Nottm Forest 1-2 Norwich

Ten-man Norwich City edged past fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest to secure their first win in five matches.

Canaries captain Gary Doherty saw red for a professional foul on Nathan Tyson, but Matthew Pattison put Norwich ahead when he volleyed home.

Goalkeeper David Marshall was in great form but was beaten when Paul Anderson turned inside and shot into the corner.

But Norwich won it when Luke Chambers' poor clearance cannoned against Chris Cohen to gift the visitors victory.

Norwich manager Glenn Roeder told BBC Radio Norfolk:

"It was terrific, the way the lads have come firing back at me because after the Derby and Burnley defeats I accused them as a team of not showing enough courage.

"They've really thrown that back in my face tonight and I'm happy to accept that."

Roeder on goalkeeper David Marshall:
"We have a keeper who could become Scotland's number one keeper.

"I want him in the coming months to believe in himself as much as I believe in him and we believe in him.

"I am not sure which was his best save but I am told it was the one from the (Matt Thornhill) free-kick. He was electric to get down to that in the corner."

Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood:
"It was a horrible second half. We under-performed. The game was there for the taking - a real missed opportunity to maximise our game and get the three points.

"We didn't play in the second half and it overshadowed a really good first-half performance.

"(We showed) poor execution on individual things, and there was no real danger against their back four.

"We really failed in the second half. That's cost us and put us in a black mood."
