Nottingham Forest 1-1 Ipswich

Tommy Miller's second-half penalty earned Ipswich a draw and denied bottom-side Nottingham Forest just their second win of the campaign.

The home side had the ball in the net after two minutes but Garath McCleary's effort was ruled out for offside.

McCleary then lashed home an angled drive from the edge of the area in the 31st minute to give Forest the lead.

But in the 51st minute, on-loan Paul Anderson felled Alan Quinn in the area and Miller put away the spot-kick.

Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood
"It might not have been the best performance from us but the players had hearts as big as buckets. They put a huge amount of effort into the game and got the reward of a point at the end of it.

"We have certainly played better but hopefully the point we have picked up will set us off in the right direction.

"They could have been deflated after seeing a soft penalty given against them but they dug in and inspired one another with the sheer commitment they showed."

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton
"I thought we controlled the game for long periods and in all honesty I was disappointed we didn't take all three points.

"We passed the ball extremely well and maybe our quality in the final third of the field let us down a little bit.

"But we'll take the point because I feel we are improving all the time and I feel we are capable of stringing together the kind of results that will lift us up the table."
