Wolves 0-3 Reading

Reading celebrate at Molineux
Reading continued their hot form in front of goal at Molineux

Reading handed league leaders Wolves their first defeat of the season with a commanding display at Molineux.

Returning Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey made a hash of a Stephen Hunt corner under pressure from Kevin Doyle to put through his own net.

Andre Bikey doubled their lead with a header from a Jimmy Kebe cross.

Shane Long set up the third goal three minutes after coming off the bench, with fellow substitute Kalifa Cisse completing the scoring.

To add to Wolves' misery, they lost both their wingers Michael Kightly and Matt Jarvis with hamstring injuries.

Kightly came off when he felt a twinge just before half-time, but Jarvis pulled up sharply midway through the second half.

And boss Mick McCarthy has already ruled the pair of them out of this Saturday's trip to Swansea.

McCarthy also now has injury worries over left-back Stephen Ward, who suffered a bang in the ribs, and striker Andy Keogh, who took a kick in the back.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy:
"We had almost forgotten that bitter taste of defeat but the cost is huge with the injuries.

"We might have caught Michael Kightly's in time because he was just starting to feel a problem.

"But everyone saw Matt Jarvis go down. Stephen Ward has a rib problem and Andy Keogh had a knee in the back."

Reading boss Steve Coppell:
"We were very conscious of trying to have a go at them as much as possible.

"We had some terrific opportunities apart from the goals we scored and it wasn't just backs to the wall.

"It was a solid performance all round. We had to defend well but we took full advantage of the problems Wolves had."
