Sheff Utd 1-1 Coventry

Billy Sharp conjured a smart left-foot finish to grab a point for the Blades against Coventry at Bramall Lane.

Jay Tabb gave the Sky Blues an interval advantage, firing home on the half hour after the United defence failed to clear Aron Gunnarsson's long throw.

Blades' Sun Jihai was red-carded for a foul on Michael Mifsud, minutes after upending the same player for a penalty which Elliott Ward blasted wide.

Coventry looked in control but Sharp's 56th minute leveller earned a point.

Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell:
"Every club has rules on sendings-off and its no different for Sun.

"He could find himself out longer than he thinks, as he's going to have to fight to get his place back."

He added: "We were garbage. The players can't get anxious like that, they have to learn to cope with the expectation."

Coventry boss Chris Coleman:
"For 45 minutes we were outstanding and we deserved to be 1-0 up.

"Then we got the penalty and missed it and for five minutes we were feeling sorry for ourselves."

"I'm disappointed not to have won. We've got to learn to do enough to win games, we're a young side and we lack experience."
