Charlton 1-3 Wolves

Substitute Sam Vokes struck twice late on to sink Charlton and keep Wolves on top of the Championship.

Nicky Bailey put Charlton ahead after three minutes when he fired a sweet 25-yard volley past Wayne Hennessey.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake drew Wolves level from the spot after 61 minutes following Bailey's foul on Andy Keogh.

Vokes put Wolves into the lead with nine minutes left when he turned in Stephen Ward's cross, then prodded home his second after 87 minutes.

Charlton manager Alan Pardew:
"I thought the penalty decision was harsh and changed the game but we did not react well to it.

"As a group we cannot be proud of the performance from the last 20 minutes.

"Wolves are a good side and are flying but the gap between us is not too big. We need to do a bit of learning as a group though before we are as good as them."

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy:
"He has had a great week after scoring for Wales. I was delighted to sign him in the summer, and he scored two great goals here.

"These days I don't turn around, look at the bench and think I can't change things. I now look at the subs and think they can change the game.

"I am not holding Sam back because he is 18."
