Leicester 0-2 Hull

Dean Marney and Caleb Folan struck to boost Hull's promotion hopes, but heap more relegation pressure on Leicester.

The Foxes looked set to go in level against an in-form Hull side until Marney turned home Fraizer Campbell's cross on 45 minutes.

Marney should have doubled the lead, but his penalty was saved after keeper Paul Henderson fouled Campbell.

Folan sealed the points three minutes after coming off the bench, racing through and firing past Henderson.

  • Leicester manager Ian Holloway:
"It was the worst performance I have seen for a long, long time. It was hard to take.

"If it wasn't for my goalkeeper Henderson it would have been far more embarrassing than it actually was.

"We have six games left and all I will say is we will have to do a damn sight better than that."

  • Hull manager Phil Brown:
"It was always our intention to get to sixth place and above at some stage of the season.

"Now that we're there it is our intention to stay there in sixth place and above.

"It's a big game for us against Watford next week. These players seem to be totally focused on the job in hand and it's full credit to them."
