Watford 1-1 Norwich

Norwich striker Jamie Cureton came off the bench to score a superb late equaliser away at Watford.

Cureton picked the ball up 25 yards out with only nine minutes to go and smashed it into the top corner.

The Hornets had dominated proceedings and went ahead when Danny Shittu headed home Jobi McAnuff's corner.

McAnuff forced a David Marshall save as Watford pressed, while Dion Dublin fired over, before he was saved scoring an own goal by a fine Marshall stop.

Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd:
"I'll go home and shout into my pillow - I'm as cross as the fans.

"We allowed Norwich to come back into it. We are not taking our chances and we didn't defend properly. We should be finishing those chances.

"It's the mother of all weeks for us now though with Bristol City away and Stoke at home."

Norwich manager Glenn Roeder:
"It was an excellent point - and deserved. I would have hated to have left here with nothing.

"It's a unique brand of football here. You can play what sort of football you like and I won't be critical.

"We tried to play the ball on the floor but when you have long throw-ins coming in every time the ball crosses the halfway line it's difficult."
