Southampton 2-3 QPR
Patrick Agyemang took advantage of some comical defending to take his run to seven goals in five league games as QPR won a five-goal thriller at St Mary's.

Southampton took the lead when Darren Powell headed home Adam Hamill's cross, before Martin Rowland's neat leveller.

Agyemang gave QPR the lead when he shot home after Jermaine Wright's error and he made it 3-1 after another mix-up.

Southampton lost Youssef Safri to a red card after a mis-timed tackle and Stern John's consolation came too late.

  • Southampton caretaker boss Jason Dodd:
"It's a worry that we are not scoring goals.

"We don't seem to be punishing teams and we made three individual errors, which cost us the match.

"I'm not going to blame individuals, we are collectively to blame."

  • QPR boss Luigi De Canio praises striker Patrick Agyemang after he scores twice:
"Patrick is doing really well, along with the rest of the team. He came to my attention because Gianni Paladini, our chairman, suggested him to me as I was not familiar with a lot of English players.

"Southampton are a good team with good players but the behaviour of the QPR players, even after we let in an early goal, was excellent.

"We regained the right mentality and dominated the game."
