Sheff Utd 1-1 Blackpool

Claus Jorgensen rescued a point for 10-man Blackpool after James Beattie missed a penalty for Sheffield United.

The Seasiders' Ian Evatt saw red for a professional foul in the eighth minute when he fouled Billy Sharp in the box.

Although Paul Rachubka saved Beattie's spot-kick, the striker put the Blades ahead when he nodded in Sharp's cross.

But United later paid for some wasteful finishing when Jorgensen drilled a low free-kick past Paddy Kenny in the 69th minute, and Blackpool held on.

Sheff Utd winger Keith Gillespie:
"There were quite a few chances, especially in the second half - that is a positive point.

"It was one of those days. We have created chances and have to learn to put them away. It seemed that everything went against us after the sending off."

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson:
"To come here and get a point is excellent. Points are always difficult to come by in the Championship at the best of times but to get one against Sheffield United speaks volumes about the effort my lads put in.

"United have got a superb squad of players but we worked hard, denied them space and got our reward for that.

"I thought the sending-off was a little bit harsh because Ian didn't seem to make too much contact. If he did it was minimal but it was a good save by Paul.

"We showed good composure though after going a man down and I thought we deserved to take something from the game because of that."
