Burnley ground out a fourth successive away League victory at Wolves.
Visiting goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey let Robbie Blake's tame free-kick squirm through his hands for the first.
Darron Gibson side-footed Stephen Ward's cross in off the post but Kyle Lafferty stole in unmarked at the far post to slot home for the visitors.
Clarke Carlisle's close-range header put Burnley 3-1 ahead and Stephen Elliott's penalty after Andy Gray felled Seyi Olofinjana was not enough.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy:
"Their front two (Andy Gray and Robbie Blake) were brilliant - they caused a lot of problems.
"When you go 2-1 or 3-1 down it is easy for them to play their game because they have good footballers. We have now got to get back to form."
Burnley boss Owen Coyle:
"I was delighted to come to a very difficult venue against a very good side above us in the league and to get the three points that we deserved.
"We are trying to win games but we are trying to be fluid and play football. We went about it in the right way."
