Ipswich made light work of beating Coventry at Portman Road.
Jason De Vos headed in an Owen Garvan free-kick to set the home side on their way before Pablo Counago beat two City defenders before sliding in a shot.
Jonathan Walters nodded home in a Gary Roberts cross to extend Ipswich's lead before Coventry were denied a penalty for a challenge on Dele Adebola.
Counago headed in his second, while a late Stephen Hughes free-kick was a consolation goal for the visitors.
Ipswich boss Jim Magilton:
"We needed to get out of the blocks quickly and we capitalised on that to score some good goals.
"We have applied ourselves well in training all week.
"We need to have the same sort of performance from the players away from home. I wish we could bottle this sort of form for our away games."
Coventry City manager Iain Dowie:
"One team could defend and the other could not. We gave a very poor defensive display.
"The first goal we conceded was a litany of errors. I'm going to put it down as a blip.
"I hope it's only a blip. I cannot put up with defending like that. We will all have to work hard on the training ground during the week."
