David Livermore grabbed a late equaliser for Hull to deny Stoke an away victory.
Rory Delap gave Stoke the lead when he fired high into the goal after Boaz Myhill parried Ricardo Fuller's powerful strike.
Livermore levelled matters when he latched on to Caleb Folan's flick on from Sam Ricketts' cross.
Jay-Jay Okocha made his debut for Hull, coming on in the 55th minute, and cheered the crowd with a run and shot.
Hull boss Phil Brown on Jay-Jay Okocha:
"I thought Jay-Jay's contribution was there for everyone to see.
"He has great ability on the ball and will attract close attention from future sides.
"We got beat by Stoke 2-0 last year but that was in my early days so a draw shows signs of progress."
Stoke manager Tony Pulis:
"We knew it would be a tough game but I thought we stuck to it and worked very, very hard.
"I was obviously disappointed with conceding late on but I was very pleased with the players.
"There's a good spirit and what we've got to do is bring in that little bit of quality. Hopefully we'll be able to do that in the next few weeks."
