Ipswich 5-1 Barnsley
Ipswich scored three times in the last eight minutes to put the gloss on a victory which sent Barnsley into the Championship relegation zone.

Gary Roberts put the hosts ahead after just two minutes, finishing from six yards, and George O'Callaghan's 25-yard drive made it 2-0 at half-time.

Daniel Nardiello gave Barnsley hope with a free-kick 11 minutes from time.

But Danny Haynes struck from 12 yards before Francis Jeffers and Jonathan Walters added late goals.

  • Ipswich boss Jim Magilton:
"We passed the ball well and created some good chances in the first half.

"When Barnsley scored it looked a bit dodgy for us but as they pushed forward they left gaps, which we explored. There were always goals in the game for us.

"The all-round play of Jon Walters was first-class. If he had not scored it would have been a travesty."

  • Barnsley boss Simon Davey:
"It was a bad day at the office but there is no doubt in my mind that we will secure enough points to stay in this division.

"We had to gamble to try to win the game so we had three up front. Now we must focus on our task.

"We have five games left and know what we have got to do. This was a setback, a cup final that we have lost."
