Burnley 0-0 Luton
Luton Town halted a six-match losing run in new manager Kevin Blackwell's first game in charge to leave Burnley without a win in 19 games.

Burnley had chances in the opening exchanges, with Steve Jones firing at a defender and Andy Gray wasting another opportunity with a header.

Dean Morgan had a chance for Luton as they finally threatened, heading over the top then shooting wide.

But the deadlock remained, a result that does little for either side.

  • Burnley boss Steve Cotterill:
"We knocked on the door in the first half without ever knocking it down, but in the second half we looked a little bit lacklustre and a little bit scared.

"This week there seemed to be a change in them and I thought we'd see that in the game. They want to do well and they're the same lads that were doing very well earlier in the season.

"I don't think they (Luton) came here to win the game, I thought they came here not to lose."

  • Luton manager Kevin Blackwell:
"It would have been nice to have come away with a win but I'm delighted with the attitude and they knuckled down to the shape and the system.

"The work-rate and the application, particularly in the second half was excellent.

"They were honest and hard-working and that's what you want at this stage of the season."
