Wolves 1-1 Preston
Romanian striker Vio Ganea was Wolves' hero turned villain after he scored Wanderers' equaliser before being sent off with 20 minutes to go at Molineux.

Ganea volleyed in Seol Ki-Hyeon's near-post cross to cancel out Preston substitute Dixon Etuhu's first-half header from Paul McKenna's corner.

But the forward was dismissed following a challenge on McKenna.

David Jones hit the inside of a post from an acute angle for North End and Darren Anderton went close for Wolves.

  • Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle:
"I was among the majority who didn't see Vio had already been booked for his goal celebrations.

"But then he dived into a crowd and he deserved his second booking. It could be deemed reckless and we can't appeal against two yellow cards.

"Will I fine him? That's between me and Vio but I can tell you he won't be getting many rounds in."

  • Preston boss Billy Davies:
"I'm pleased with the point but we should have been further in front than one goal at half-time.

"We played good football and created plenty of chances. In the second half we controlled the game but we hit the post and that was the turning point.

"If that went in, it would have been over. That's only four defeats in 15 but we keep drawing and that's down to being unfortunate in front of goal."
