QPR 1-3 Crystal Palace
Marco Reich's superb brace gave Crystal Palace victory in the London derby.

Reich's goals came in the space of four minutes, the German first demonstrating wonderful technique to volley in Clinton Morrison's cross from the left.

On 17 minutes Reich took advantage of a poorly-placed wall to curl a low free-kick into the corner of the net.

Two minutes later Gareth Ainsworth's header reduced the deficit but Palace held on, adding a third late on when Tom Soares lashed in a half-volley.

  • QPR boss Ian Holloway:
"Palace were a little bit stronger than us in every department.

"We have lost our last two matches at home. It's not a nice feeling and we are not used to it. I wasn't very pleased in the dressing room after the game.

"So it's not been the easiest day of my life. Our lack of strength in depth hurt us."

  • Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie:
"Our away form has been decent, but the results haven't been.

"Hopefully this can be the lift-off for us, though we're still 13 points behind Championship leaders Sheffield United.

"We have still some ground to make up."
