Wolves suffered a surprise defeat as they were beaten by a resolute Burnley.
The home side had plenty of possession early on but it was Burnley who took the lead when Garreth O'Connor curled home a low 20-yard free-kick.
Wolves pressed for an equaliser and were disappointed they were not awarded a penalty when Ki-Hyeon Seol seemed to have been tugged by Jon Harley.
They were also denied by the woodwork as headers from Kenny Miller and Lee Naylor hit the crossbar.
Burnley boss Steve Cotterill:
"It was a job well done. We looked like it was our third game in six days but the players showed massive character.
"It's been a long time since we won away and there's no better place to do it than here.
"We had been playing well without winning so I'm very relieved at taking six points from the last two matches."
Wolves manager Glenn Hoddle:
"I've told the players not to worry too much because we could have won by four or five on another night.
"They were lucky. We should have won the game, simple as that. Our performance was magnificent.
"They have picked our pockets and I've never known a side be so much in control and not score."
