Wolves 1-1 Sunderland
Stephen Elliott put Sunderland ahead
Elliott put Sunderland ahead
A fortunate goal from Seol Ki-Hyeon earned Wolves a draw with promotion-chasing Sunderland.

The South Korean's fourth strike in seven games went in off the back of his head from Mark Kennedy's cross.

His goal came just 60 seconds after Stephen Elliott's run and spectacular drive gave the Black Cats the lead after 12 minutes.

Wolves pressed hard for a winner, with Kenny Miller going close on more than one occasion, but Sunderland held on.

  • Wolves manager Glenn Hoddle: "We had enough chances to win the game.

"But we didn't have our shooting boots on, we didn't hit the target often enough. To be fair, the state of the pitch didn't help.

"So we had to resign ourselves to churning out a result and the players stuck to their task well.

  • Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy: "Before coming here to Molineux I would've taken the draw for a point.

"I think the players would've liked to have gone top - and they would have earned themselves a bonus too - but the most important thing is that the quality of the performance was there.

"We were the best side in the first half and we had some good chances but in the second half we got a bit nullified and Wolves stopped us playing."
