Coventry 1-2 QPR

Paul Furlong scored in the last minute to send Coventry crashing to defeat in Micky Adams' first match in charge.

QPR started brightly and went ahead when Jamie Cureton picked up a loose ball and hammered in a low drive.

Simon Royce denied Stern John, while Luke Steele kept out 20-yard efforts from Gareth Ainsworth and Cureton.

Ady Williams thumped home a header from Steve Staunton's corner, but Ainsworth forced Steele to tip over his shot and Furlong pounced to stun the home side.

Coventry boss Mickey Adams on QPR's later winner:
"I've seen their second goal on TV, and it was over the line," conceded Adams.

"There's an argument for an offside but I thought it was a goal. I'm disappointed when we concede but I was heartened by our second-half display.

"After the break we were much more like we will need to be if we are going to retrieve this situation," added Adams.

QPR boss Ian Holloway on his side for turning around their recent poor away form:
"I've told my players they need to have the constitution of a police horse.

"They need to know what their jobs are and they don't need to let anything faze them - such as goals going in or big crowds you see in this division.

"That's as well as we have played away from home all season, and we did not look like a side who have not won on their travels for six or seven games."
