Carl Cort scored twice as 10-man Wolves made it two straight home wins.
Kevin Cooper, who scored both goals in the midweek win against Derby, crossed from deep in the 22nd minute for Cort to rise and head in at the far post.
With 20 minutes to go Seyi George Olofinjana, played Cort into space and the striker prodded the ball home.
Kenny Miller was sent off after picking up a second yellow card, while a Kevin Gallen lob late pulled a goal back for QPR, but it was too little to late.
Wolves manager Dave Jones:
"Those goals will do Carl a power of good but now he has to move forward and get more,"
"It was all about killing off the spirit of Rangers and I thought we did that particularly in the first half."
"We made life difficult for ourselves in the last 25 minutes after Miller was sent off but we hung on for the all-important points. This was a good win for us and all the signs are good."
QPR boss Ian Holloway:
"The ball just wasn't rolling - if it's not rolling you haven't got a game."
"If we had been level I am sure it would have been abandoned. But we were behind and when Wolves got their second goal it was all over."
"We are here to entertain and in the first half it was a
fantastic game of football,- real end-to-end stuff, but we just couldn't finish."
