Wolves 2-0 Derby
Kevin Cooper ended a near two-year goal drought to give Wolves their first home win of the season against 10-man Derby.

Cooper scored from the spot to record his first goal since November 2002.

The 19th minute penalty came after Kenny Miller was brought down by Rams goalkeeper Lee Camp, who was sent off, with Lee Grant coming on his place.

Wolves took just five minutes of the second half to double their lead when Miller was fouled by Adam Bolder and Cooper curled the ball home.

  • Wolves boss Dave Jones:

"I drove to the ground and saw billboards saying it was D-Day for me, but we worked the ball well and there were a lot of good performances.

"It was all about three points tonight and we did well from start to finish. We were up for it and well in control of the game.

"The only way the players are going to get confidence is by winning games. I can't inject it into them."

  • Derby boss George Burley:

"I didn't think the referee had any option but to send Lee Grant off.

"Wolves didn't create another chance at 1-0 but I didn't think there was any way back once we went 2-0 down."
