Wimbledon grabbed a well-deserved draw at Cardiff as Mark Williams headed in late on just a minute after John Robinson had given Cardiff the lead.
Tony Vidmar headed wide as Cardiff pressed early on but the Dons struck back and Ben Chorley nodded Gary Smith's cross onto the post.
Smith saw a shot hit Martyn Margetson and loop onto the bar before Robinson converted Richard Langley's centre.
Wimbledon bagged a point when Williams rose highest from Smith's free-kick.
Cardiff were quickly into their stride and almost took the lead after 11 minutes when Willie Boland hit a rising half-volley that forced Scott Bevan to scramble across his line.
But midway through the half Wimbledon found a route to goal as Wayne Gray shifted the ball onto his right foot before driving in a 20-yard effort that Margetson parried.
Paul Parry suffered an injury and had to be replaced, Langley coming on for Cardiff, and he forced Scott Bevan into a neat stop soon after.
Robert Earnshaw had an unusually quiet game but he went close with an instinctive turn and shot from 20 yards that just flew wide.
Wimbledon, however, were continuing to enjoy success out wide and when Dean
Lewington crossed from the right, Smith flashed in a shot that was blocked by Danny Gabbidon.
Cardiff thought they had won it when Lagley centred for Robinson to slam in but Williams powered home a well-deserved equaliser for the already-relegated Dons.
