Brighton 0-1 Wolves
Wolves claimed their first Championship victory of the season after Kenny Miller's goal earned them victory.

In-form Miller capitalised on Kerry Mayo's defensive hesitancy to head the ball past goalkeeper Michel Kuipers after 21 minutes.

For Brighton, Dean Hammond saw his strike hacked off the goalline by Joleon Lescott, and Darren Currie's free-kick dipped just over the bar.

But Wolves remained well in control and comfortably secured three points.

  • Brighton manager Mark McGhee:

"We demonstrated we could compete in this game and we ended up losing a match we should have won.

"Wolves had one lucky break, with the ball ending up at the far post for their goal, but we did everything we could to try and win it.

"Every one of our players was excellent. We dominated and deserved at least a point. We believe we can beat anyone. We can compete and we have some quality."

  • Wolves manager Dave Jones:

"It was not the best performance because we should have killed Brighton off.

"The longer the game went on the more edgy we became and by the death we were looking nervous.

"It was our first win and it was a particularly hard three points. Brighton is a difficult place to come and play and they made it hard for us."
