Wolves 1-1 Leicester
Wolves striker Kenny Miller
Miller is Wolves' top scorer this season

An 86th minute Trevor Benjamin penalty earned promoted Leicester a draw against Wolves.

Just before the hour Kenny Miller broke the deadlock, guiding a low shot past Ian Walker to claimed his 24th goal of the season, but a Benjamin penalty snatched a point for Leicester.

Fifth-placed Wolves will now play Reading in the play-off semi-finals next Saturday, with the first leg to be staged at Molineux.

Last season Wolves, having looked certain to gain an automatic promotion spot, ended up in the play-offs, losing to Norwich in the the semi-finals.

Leicester had the better of the opening exchanges and James Scowcroft had a half chance for the visitors in the opening minute when he could not quite get his head to a long cross from Andrew Impey.

Wolves gradually began to assert themselves and Foxes defender Gerry Taggart had to clear well under pressure following a Denis Irwin cross.

Nathan Blake then drilled wide of the upright from the right side of the area in the 18th minute as the men in gold created a succession of chances.

Leicester keeper Walker then brilliantly tipped Scottish midfielder Colin Cameron's 20-yard drive round the post.

In the following minute Miller should have done better when well positioned but he tried to place his shot and Walker saved comfortably.

Leicester nearly took the lead when veteran striker Brian Deane rounded Matthew Murray in the Wolves goal only for Lee Naylor to clear his goalbound shot off the line.

Deane had another effort saved after a fine long ball from his strike partner Trevor Benjamin, who himself had an opportunity to break the deadlock after a poor clearance from Naylor but could only shoot straight at Murray.

On 57 minutes Wolves top scorer Miller showed his eye for goal, shooting low past Walker.

Leicester showed the fighting spirit which has served them well all season and found an equaliser after 85 minutes when Ludovic Pollet handled in the area and Benjamin tucked away the penalty.
