Watford 1-2 Rotherham

Goals from central defenders Martin McIntosh and Chris Swailes completed Rotherham's second-half comeback to abruptly end Watford's run of three consecutive wins.

Striker Tommy Smith gave Watford a 62nd-minute lead but after McIntosh powered the ball home, Swailes' thundering header kept alive Rotherham's play-off hopes.

The Millers were the brighter side in the opening exchanges, with Lee heading just over from 10 yards and Darren Garner going even closer shortly after.

Havoc

After weathering the early storm, Watford slowly edged their way into the and Heidar Helguson headed just over from Allan Nielsen's long throw.

Millers' keeper Mike Pollit denied Watford either side of half-time producing fine saves to keep out Smith and Micah Hyde.

After Jermaine Pennant went close the Hornets' domination was rewarded when Smith gave them the advantage.

Shellshocked

Smith curled a hopeful cross into the danger area and defenders stood and watched as the founds its way past Pollit.

Rotherham levelled on 69 minutes when Curtis Woodhouse's inswinging corner caused havoc and McIntosh was on hand to power the ball past Chamberlain from close range.

The goal boosted Rotherham's confidence and they took a 75th-minute lead.

The impressive Sedgwick teed up Swailes from the right wing whose towering header smashed into the top corner of the goal.

Shellshocked Watford failed to drag themselves back into the game against a stout Millers rearguard.
