Wolves 1-1 Wimbledon

Wimbledon midfielder Damien Francis cancelled out Kenny Miller's seventh goal of the season as a disappointing game ended with honours even at Molineux.

Play-off hopefuls Wolves looked marginally the better side, but there were few chances to excite the crowd.

Wimbledon's Alex Tapp had the first shot with just under three minutes on the clock but sent the ball wide.

While Paul Ince struck Wolves' opening effort from long range but could not find the target.

Mid-way through the first half Mark Kennedy had a chance to give the hosts the lead when getting on the end of a Miller cross but he drilled an angled shot wide.

Wolves were looking the livelier outfit but did not make their possession count.

The three minutes before the break, Kennedy and Miller linked up again to give Dave Jones' team the lead.

This time, the Republic of Ireland winger's fine cross was met by Miller's looping header which found the corner of the net.

The Dons came out for the second half with greater purpose and equalised just 41 seconds after the restart.

Mikele Leigertwood crossed and Francis controlled the ball well before hammering it home.

Neither side ever really looked like netting a winner and a draw seemed the fairest result.

Wimbledon: Davis, Leigertwood, Hawkins, Williams, Gier, Francis, Tapp, Darlington, Reo-Coker, Shipperley, Agyemang. Subs: Willmott, Nowland, Gray, Kamara, Gore.
