Rotherham 0-0 Wolves

Rotherham held promotion hopefuls Wolves to a goalless draw in a lively encounter at Millmoor.

The home side started the brighter, almost taking the lead inside two minutes.

Chris Sedgwick swung in a cross from the right-hand side and an unmarked Nicky Daws headed just over from 10 yards.

The visitors' first opportunity fell to Scotland international Kenny Miller, who fired just wide from outside the area with Millers keeper Mike Pollitt well beaten.

Rotherham created the half's clearest chance in the middle of Wanderers' best spell of pressure.

Striker Alan Lee played a clever one-two with Barker, before firing his shot inches wide.

Dean Sturridge then wasted a good chance for the visitors as his looping header from a Mark Kennedy cross nestled on the roof of the net.

Wolves skipper Paul Ince wasted the visitors' best opportunity, firing over from the edge of the area after a Marc Edworthy cross was only half cleared.

The second half began much the same as the first, with the Millers making the early running.

Rotherham should have taken the lead on 66 minutes, but Barker headed Garner's corner straight into the grateful arms of Murray.

On-loan Chelsea striker Carlton Cole was introduced into the action on 67 minutes, and five minutes later almost grabbed his first Wolves goal.

He blasted a shot from the right side of the area which Pollitt did well to hold.

Both sides pressed for a winner but were unable to break each other's resilient defences.
