Coventry 2-3 Millwall
Millwall's Dennis Wise
Wise was booked within two minutes of the start

Striker Neil Harris notched his first goal of the season to give Millwall a last-ditch victory over Coventry in a five-goal thriller at Highfield Road.

Coventry had looked to be heading for all three points when a thunderous Lee Mills effort just before the interval put them ahead for the second time.

But in a superb second-half, showing Millwall scored twice through Belgian Christophe Kinet before Harris' late strike snatched the win.

Debutant Dennis Wise's hopes of a fresh start suffered a setback after just two minutes when he was booked for foul on Sky Blues player-boss Gary McAllister.

Coventry began to look threatening on the counter attack - and after half an hour they hit Millwall with a sucker punch when Gary McSheffrey rifled home from six yards out.

Millwall kept on pressing - and eight minutes before the interval they gained their reward when Kinet's shot cannoned back off the post and Kevin Davies pounced to slam home the rebound.

Coventry regained their led when Mills drilled a thunderous effort high into the top corner from 35 yards.

Kinet hauled his side level on 49 minutes with a powerful volley from Darren Ward's knock-down.

In a bid to regain the initiative, Coventry sent on winger Richie Partridge after 52 minutes as boss McAllister gave the on-loan Liverpool youngster his debut.

But despite the Irishman's introduction, it was Millwall who continued to look more threatening.

And with five minutes left, they gained their reward as Harris rifled home.
