Wimbledon 3-2 Wolves

Neil Shipperley scored twice as Wimbledon ended high-flying Wolves' unbeaten start to the season.

The much-travelled striker opened the scoring in only the fourth minute as Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray endured a miserable debut at Selhurst Park.

Ivar Ingimarsson's first goal for Wolves levelled matters, only for Wayne Gray to give the Dons a 2-1 lead shortly into the second half.

Dean Sturridge levelled again for the visitors - but Shipperley scored the winner for the Dons after 77 minutes.

Michael Oakes missed out with a rib injury after a run of 125 consecutive games - and deputy goalkeeper Murray quickly found out about the harsh realities of life in the League.

The 21-year-old could not deal with Joel McAnuff's corner, allowing Shipperley to guide the ball home from close range.

But the visitors, who had more support than the home team from the crowd of 3,223, hit back strongly and almost levelled only for Sturridge's shot to drift wide.

However, moments later Wanderers were back on level terms when Ingimarsson, signed from Brentford in the summer, met Lee Naylor's 15th-minute corner and headed home his first goal for the club.

Wolves then dominated - until Wimbledon scored against the run of play when Gray tucked the ball home following McAnuff's cross from the right.

Dave Jones' team again responded - Sturridge turning home Alex Rae's cross under close attention from Dons defender Rob Gier.

But Shipperley scored his second with 13 minutes left - and Wolves could not find a third equaliser.
