Nilsson hangs up boots
Coventry player-manager Roland Nilsson
Nilsson's final game was against Preston
Coventry boss Roland Nilsson has announced his retirement as a player.

The 38-year-old former Sweden international played his first game for six months in the 4-0 defeat at Preston on Saturday which virtually ended their play-off hopes and decided to hang up his boots following the game.

"That's it for me. There is no reason why I should play on, so someone else can take it on from here," he said.

"The most important thing now is we play on and do well in our last two games.

"We will do our best against Millwall at Highfield Road on Friday and in the last match at Burnley, but with two games to go I think it is all over."
