Rotherham goalkeeper Mike Pollitt was the hero, saving a penalty three minutes into injury time to give his team a priceless victory over Stockport.

Four goals came in an incredible final 13 minutes - with Mark Robbins eventually scoring the winner.

County did not deserve to be a goal down at the break as they carved out chance after chance and only the brilliance of Pollitt kept them out.

Rotherham went ahead after John Mullin's corner was headed out to Andy Monkhouse.

He rolled the ball across the edge of the penalty area and Chris Sedgwick's scuffed shot was good enough to beat Lee Jones and find its way into the bottom corner.

And after the break it was County who carved out the better chances. They eventually got back on level terms in the 77th minute.

New signing Hardiker headed home from close range from Colin Woodthorpe's left wing corner.

Brilliant saves

Then came a frantic finale.

Alan Lee raced half the length of the field after 83 minutes and was fouled by a combination of Jones and Andy Thomas.

Robins restored Rotherham's lead from the penalty spot.

But within two minutes County were level for a second time, Damien Delaney blasting home from close range from Dave Challinor's long throw.

Rotherham's response came from Robins who restored their lead in the 89th minute firing home from inside the six yard box.

In the third minute of injury time County were awarded a penalty when referee Mike Dean spotted a handball in the Rotherham penalty area.

Beckett's effort was brilliantly saved by Pollitt, who threw himself to his right to pull off the best of a string of brilliant saves.
